York Biotech Campus celebrates 30 years of scientific innovation and impact

 

York Biotech Campus (YBC), is marking 30 years of scientific innovation, collaboration and real-world impact, celebrating its evolution from a government research facility into one of the North’s leading biotechnology hubs.

Established in 1996 as part of a government initiative to strengthen the UK's scientific research capabilities beyond Cambridge, the 80-acre campus has grown into a thriving centre for bioscience innovation. Today, around 1,000 people work across the site, representing organisations spanning agri-tech, environmental science, healthcare, diagnostics and advanced manufacturing, including occupiers such as Labcorp, Abingdon Health and Cargill Bioindustrial.
